At the end of your stay in the Hotel Derby
you will wonder why this splendid hotel has only a 3 star
rating, being that it is of a much higher standard than many other hotels
with a comparable rating.
The Hotel Derby is located only a short walk from the cable car - although if you don't fancy the short stroll, the hotel
runs a free minibus shuttle to the slopes in the morning and back again in
the afternoon.
The hotel is in a quiet position,
between our other hotels, the Hotel Vecchia America and the Gran Baita.
It is ideal for those wanting to spend a holiday in a
relaxing location surrounded by the glorious scenery of the Brenta
Dolomites.
One of the many benefits of this wonderful
hotel is that guests are able to relax after a strenuous day (looking good
on the slopes) in the hotel's wellness/relaxation centre with sauna, steam bath, etc.
Parents of younger children will find the kids play area a real bonus (the
hotel lays on entertainment most evenings) and there is even an in-house
cinema showing films each evening. Or you may simply relax in the
hotel's large bar.
All of the hotel's bedrooms (which are, of course,
en-suite) have recently been renovated to a very high standard. Each
room has a shower/wc and the hotel has added direct dial telephones.
The meals are of a higher standard than many
ski hotels. The breakfasts are very substantial and are taken buffet style.
Dinners are served "silver" service and, once a week, the hotel's head chef
lays on a traditional Trentino meal for guests. Although wine is not
included in the cost of the trip, it would be a shame not to try some
locally produced Trentino wine with your dinner.
The reviews given here regarding this hotel are based
on the facilities offered during our last ski season. It is the nature
of the hotel business that some facilities may change, extra facilities may
be offered in future and others may be withdrawn. We have written this
