Ski holidays in Italy, Folgarida and Madonna di Campliglio

What an amazing find. The Hotel St. Raphael is quite literally the best positioned hotel in Madonna di Campiglio. Less than 100m from the main cable car and only 2 minutes walk from the main shopping area.

Whilst not exactly a ski-in-ski-out hotel, as you can see from the picture, the end of the piste is just to the left of the hotel, in fact it's possible to ski to within 40m of the front door. As we say, ideally positioned.

Of course, being a 4* hotel, fine dining is taken as read, as is the comfortable lounge and bar. What sets this hotel above the others in the area is the Spa; there is a swimming pool with large Jacuzzi, plus solariums, Turkish bath, saunas, tanning rooms, massage centre, etc. basically the perfect place to unwind after your day's piste bashing.
Swimming costumes and slippers are available to hire, although you may prefer to bring your own when packing for your holiday. Note - the swimming area is free for hotel guests but there is a €20 charge (per the week) for entry to the other areas, eg. sauna / solarium etc.

The bedrooms are clean, bright and modern and larger than provided by most ski resort hotels. Most rooms shown on the plan as double bedded can be changed to twin and some may be configured as a triple. Of course all rooms are en-suite and have satellite TV. The upper floors are reached by a lift from the reception area.

We fully recommend the Hotel St. Raphael to anyone who considers their choice of accommodation to be one of the defining factors when considering where to enjoy a ski holiday.
